EVENT DETAILS
Nonprofit Village's 2016 Masters Series, sponsored by M&T Bank and hosted by Discovery Communications, takes place at One Discovery Place, Silver Spring 20910, on June 7 and 8 (9am - 3pm both days). A light breakfast and lunch will be served both days.

The overall theme this year is fundraising: how to build the tools your organization needs to be successful in seeking funds from foundations, corporations and individuals.

June 7

Our opening panel discussion focuses on prevalent trends in philanthropy and how nonprofits are adapting to them. The panel is chaired by State Senator Cheryl Kagan and features Julian Haynes (Meyer Foundation), Mary Robinson (Capacity Partners) and AJ Nwoga (M&T Bank).

In the first session, Rachel Werner will explore how nonprofits can assess their readiness to seek funding and conduct prospect research.

In the second session, Franca Brilliant will share best practices for measuring and communicating impact, an increasingly important part of every nonprofits work.

June 8

The morning session will feature Debbie Liverpool showing how nonprofits can create a balanced, sustainable development plan.

Ayda Sanver will lead the afternoon session, which looks at best practices for connecting with major donors and forging partnerships with corporations.

All sessions will be interactive and feature the chance to share with and learn from other participants. Here is what attendees had to say about last year's program:

"Interactive and collaborative atmosphere."

"Practical, action oriented information and resources."

"Trainers were knowledgable and had great real life examples...lots of participation."

"Thorough, relevant information...great inside look."
